    קורות חיים

Adina Bankier-Karp is a scholar of Jewish identity, education, and community engagement, with a particular focus on diaspora studies. She is a Lecturer in the Department of Jewish History and Contemporary Jewry at Bar-Ilan University and a Research Fellow at the Australian Centre for Jewish Civilisation, Monash University.

Her research combines qualitative and quantitative methods to explore how Jewish identity is shaped by experiences of education, community, migration, and critical historical events. Adina’s doctoral dissertation at Monash University, Catalysts of Connectedness, examined the identity formation of young Australian Jews and was awarded the Mollie Holman Medal for Thesis Excellence.

She has held academic and research positions in Australia, Israel, and the United States, including at Brandeis University’s Cohen Center for Modern Jewish Studies and the Orthodox Union’s Center for Communal Research in New York. In addition to her research, she has contributed to the academic community through editorial leadership as Assistant Editor of Contemporary Jewry and as an executive board member of the Association for the Social Scientific Study of Jewry.

Adina has authored and co-authored numerous journal articles, book chapters, and reports on Jewish demography, identity, and education, and her work is regularly presented at leading international conferences.
